Storm Reid is best known for her roles as Meg Murray in the Ava DuVernay-directed film A Wrinkle in Time,  and her portrayal of Gia Bennett, Rue’s younger sister in the HBO teen drama Euphoria.

With the show’s critical and commercial success and second season renewal, Reid revealed that fans can expect to see more of Gia.

In an interview with Collider, Reid also revealed that Gia will have her own storyline when Euphoria returns to HBO. “Yes! Yes. Gia’s becoming her own person and she’s getting her own storyline which is very exciting so I’m excited to start that very soon,” Reid said.

An American adaptation of the Israeli series of the same name, Euphoria follows a group of high school students as they navigate love and friendships in a world of drugs, sex, trauma and social media.  Zendaya leads the cast, which also stars Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Storm Reid, Hunter Schafer, Algee Smith and Sydney Sweeney.

The series is from Sam Levinson and produced by A24. Executive producers are Drake, Future the Prince, Ravi Nandan, Kevin Turen, Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein, Tmira Yardeni, Mirit Toovi, Yoram Mokadi, Gary Lennon, Ron Leshem and Daphna Levin.

The second season of Euphoria is expected to premiere later this year on HBO.
