Stranger Things will be coming back to Netflix much later than fans would like. The show will make its return in the summer of 2019.

The show’s Twitter page buried the lede in its new promotional video for the next season, featuring a new location, Starcourt Mall. The video is, of course, delightfully ’80s, and gives a glimpse of Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) in a mall uniform; he works at the food court’s ice cream parlor Scoops Ahoy. But the teaser video might not be enough for fans who want to get the continuation of the nostalgic sci-fi show as soon as possible.

While past seasons have focused more on the Spielbergian type of sci-fi and fantasy horror indicative of the early 1980s, the mall suggests there might be something even scarier coming down the road. The Hollywood Reporter suggests the mall could lean into George Romero’s territory, seeing how 1978’s Dawn of the Dead, one of Romero’s zombie classics, took place inside a mall.

Stranger Things has been a part of the recent news cycle as of late in another way; young star Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair) and his on-screen sister, Priah Ferguson (Erica Sinclair), participated in Netflix’s Strong Black Lead’s project, A Great Day in Hollywood, celebrating black artistry on the streaming service. Ferguson’s role will be expanded into a recurring role in season 3.
