Winston Duke has been tapped to lead Swagger, the series produced by Kevin Durant, based on his childhood.

Durant’s Thirty-Five Media and Imagine Television are producing the basketball-themed drama series. It is written and directed by Reggie Rock Bythewood.

The series “draws inspiration from Durant’s childhood playing Amateur Athletic Union basketball in metropolitan Washington, D.C, where aspiring young athletes and their families find themselves swept up into the youth-sports economy at a startlingly early age.”

Duke will lead the series as Ike, “a youth basketball coach and former star player.”

This is his first major television role after coming to prominence for a recurring role on Person of Interest.

Deadline first reported the news of this casting.
