SZA sounded off on Twitter about how unkind people can be to Lizzo online. She questioned where the good people are when the “About Damn Time” singer gets body shamed by internet trolls for simply being confident in her skin.

During an episode of David Letterman’s Netflix show, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, Lizzo opened up about the criticism she receives as a plus-size performer and how it affects her. “It bothered me for a long time, that all people could talk about or think about was my size,” she said on the show. “I didn’t like when people condemned me for it, and it also kind of rubbed me the wrong way when I was praised. Like, ‘You’re so brave!’ ‘Cause they thought that they were complimenting me by saying that I was unapologetic. And I’m like, ‘What do I have to apologize for?'”

As Blavity previously reported, the four-time Grammy winner said that the constant comments about her have gotten so bad that she’s contemplated quitting her career. In a series of tweets, SZA expressed her distaste for how people treat the 35-year-old star. “I be wondering where all the virtue signaling, well spoken sh*t talking, internet warriors are when someone genuine needs defending,” she asked. “Where the f**k do y’all be at for Lizzo? Do y’all actually know how to support others or only tear them down?”

A fan responded to her tweet asking, “So people don’t go to war for Lizzo in this app?” to which the “Kill Bill” artist retweeted and replied, “NOT EF**KINGNUFF. For as much free love, encouragement and positivity she embodies n shares on every app daily ? The ratios’s don’t add up.”

She added, “I also dgaf who don’t agree . It’s been on my mind for a minute .. makes me upset. jus want everyone to practice kindness and shutting tf up more often cause GADDAMN ITS UGLY OUTSIDE ALREADY . Why add ?”

In mid-April, political commentator Candace Owens fired shots at Lizzo and members of her “bat sh*t insane” female fanbase because she believes an unhealthy lifestyle causes obesity. To illustrate her point, she tweeted a picture of Lizzo appearing naked in it and wrote, “Obesity is on the rise and yet women are told by celebrities and the media that being obese is normal and ‘healthy’. You never see them try this with men. Only women are insecure enough to fall for it.”

Lizzo, no matter what the haters say, you are beautiful and we love you for being your authentic self!
