Anyone unfamiliar with T.I.’s acting chops should do themselves a huge favor and watch the film ATL. The Atlanta-bred rapper, born Clifford Joseph Harris Jr., has been performing for the big screen for over a decade. With an upcoming role in Marvel’s latest property, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and showcasing his business chops in his forthcoming BET competition series The Grand Hustle, the rapper/actor could also star in Eddie Murphy’s latest film.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, T.I. is in early talks to join Eddie Murphy in the Netflix biopic Dolemite Is My Name! which chronicles the tale of comedian and film producer, Rudy Ray Moore. If Tip’s casting pans out, the rapper would be joining an eclectic cast of actors that include Wesley Snipes, Mike Epps, Craig Robinson and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt breakout star Tituss Burgess.

Dolemite Is My Name!, which stars Eddie Murphy as Rudy Ray Moore, has begun production with Craig Brewer taking over as director. T.I is slated to portray a flashy movie producer. “Flashy” should come easy for the multi-hyphenate performer, as his standing in the hip-hop industry, a culture synonymous with ostentatious opulence, could be used for inspiration for the character he could potentially play.

No release date has been announced for the film. Until then, fans of T.I. can see him in Ant-Man and the Wasp, slated to arrive in theaters on July 6.
