Summer is here and it’s time to get your DVR ready for all of your summer viewing. Here are 13 television shows that are running their new seasons this summer. Check them out as you stay inside and escape the heat.

1. Claws (airing Sundays at 9 p.m. ET)

Niecy Nash headlines the latest season of TNT’s Claws. Nash’s character Desna is now in the casino business after a whirlwind season finale.

According to the official description: In last year’s epic Season Two finale, Desna (Nash) dodged an ill-fated marriage to the sinister Dr. Ruval (Jimmy Jean-Louis), took out her Russian crime boss, Zlata (Franka Potente), and inherited a new casino. The celebrations ended with a massive cliffhanger when Virginia (Karrueche Tran) took a bullet for Desna as they were about to survey their new business venture. In Season Three, the ladies will quickly learn that the stakes couldn’t be higher in the casino world, and Desna will take a gamble as she enters into business with a sinister couple, Mac (guest star Michael Horse) and Melba (guest star Rebecca Creskoff).

Along with Nash, the series stars Carrie Preston, Karrueche Tran, Judy Reyes and Jenn Lyon. Nash and Preston will also direct an episode each this season.

2. Pearson (premieres July 17 at 10 p.m. ET)

Gina Torres finally headlines her own show in USA’s Suits spinoff, Pearson.

Pearson centers around Jessica Pearson (Torres), a disbarred NYC powerhouse lawyer as she adjusts to the dirty world of Chicago politics. Her new job as the fixer for Chicago Mayor Bobby Novak (Morgan Spector), Jessica is quickly thrown into the political underworld, where Pearson must battle with her drive to win and her morals.

Torres stars alongside Chantel Riley, Isabel Arraiza, Bobby Golec, Simon Kassianides, Bethany Joy Lenz and Eli Goree.

3. Euphoria (airing Sundays at 10 p.m. ET)

Zendaya throws away her life as a former Disney star in HBO’s Euphoria, the adaptation of the Israeli TV series of the same name. Zendaya plays the main character Rue, described as a “lying, drug-addicted 17-year-old” who suffers from mental health disorders. The HBO series, produced by A24 and executive produced by Drake, is described as a teen story of “drugs, sex, identity, trauma, social media, love, and friendship.”

The series and also stars Hunter Schafer, Storm Reid, Algee Smith, Nika King, Austin Abrams, Angus Cloud, Maude Apatow, Eric Dane, Jacob Elordi, Alexa Demie, Barbie Ferreira and Sydney Sweeney.

4. City on a Hill (airing Sundays at 9 p.m. ET)

Aldis Hodge and Kevin Bacon star in Showtime’s City on a Hill. According to the description, the series is set in early 1990s Boston, rife with violent criminals emboldened by local law enforcement agencies in which corruption and racism was the norm. In this fictional account, driving change is assistant district attorney Decourcy Ward (Hodge), who comes from Brooklyn and forms an unlikely alliance with a corrupt yet venerated FBI veteran, Jackie Rohr (Bacon). Together, they take on a family of armored car robbers from Charlestown in a case that grows to involve, and ultimately subvert, the entire criminal justice system of Boston.

Co-starring with Hodge and Bacon are Jonathan Tucker, Jill Hennessy, Mark O’Brien, Lauren E. Banks, Amanda Clayton, Jere Shea and Kevin Chapman. Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are among the executive producers with Bacon and Jorge Zamacona as co-executive producers.

5. Power (debuts August 25 at 8 p.m. ET)

Power’s sixth and last season will bring the story of Ghost (Omari Hardwick) and his double dealings as a New York nightclub owner and a high-powered drug dealer.

The series also stars Naturi Naughton, Joseph Sikora, La La Anthony, and 50 Cent, who is also the executive producer with the series creator Courtney A. Kemp.

6. Bulletproof (debuts July 28 at 8 p.m. ET)

Noel Clarke and Ashley Walters star in the Sky One UK cop drama Bulletproof, which will air on The CW.

According to the official description, the dramedy features two cops who have a brotherly relationship despite being from completely different backgrounds. Adrenaline-fueled and packed with compelling characters, Bulletproof follows two undercover cops, Bishop (Clarke) and Pike (Walters) as they chase down hardened criminals in London’s East End. On the surface Bishop and Pike have a lot in common, they are cool, smart and unapologetically street-wise and tough. But even more, they share a deep, fraternal relationship and are always there for each other. However, they come from very different backgrounds and their personal motivations and emotional lives outside the police force differ as a result. Pike is an aspirational family man, the son of a decorated police officer who is determined to follow in his father’s footsteps, but not be in his shadow.

7. Snowfall (debuts July 10 at 10 p.m. ET)

The third season of FX’s Snowfall will face its premiere without the leadership of its creator and executive producer, John Singleton, who died earlier this year. The season will continue following the rise of young kingpin Franklin Saint (Damson Idris) as crack epidemic reaches its zenith in the South Central Los Angeles. Saint has now become the target of interest of his next-door neighbor, Sgt. Andre Wright (Marcus Henderson). On the flip side, Teddy McDonald (Carter Hudson) and the CIA are working even harder to make sure the flow of cocaine into Los Angeles doesn’t stop. Teddy finds a way to continue funding the war against communism in Central America by utilizing Gustavo “El Oso” Zapata (Sergio Peris-Mencheta) to find new routes into the U.S.

8. Stranger Things (debuts July 4)

The next season of Stranger Things is getting ready to drop on Netflix this July, and this time the kids of Hawkins are going to the new mall for a summer full of teenage fun. However, the gang has to once again face the monsters from the Upside Down.

The series stars Caleb McLaughlin, Priah Ferguson, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Noah Schnapp, Joe Keery, Sadie Sink, Dacre Montgomery, Cara Buono, Winona Ryder and David Harbour.

9. Good Trouble (airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET)

The second season of Freeform’s Good Trouble will have Black Lives Matter activist Patrisse Cullors join the writers room as Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) and Callie (Maia Mitchell) continue to live their lives and come up against all manner of trials that millennials are facing right now.

The series also stars Tommy Martinez, Sherry Cola, Zuri Adele, Emma Hunton and Josh Pence.

10. Ambitions (airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET)

Robin Givens and Essence Atkins star in OWN’s latest series Ambitions, created by Jamey Giddens from an original idea by Will Packer. The Atlanta-set series will focus on the rivalry between two lawyers (Givens and Atkins), former best friends who have now become adversaries in both their professional and personal lives. Power, politics and relationships are tied together as the two women battle for supremacy.

Brian White, Kendrick Cross, Brely Evans and Erica Page also star. Kevin Arkadie is the series’ showrunner with the pilot directed by Benny Boom.

11. grown-ish (airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET)

The latest season of Freeform’s grown-ish continues the misadventures of Zoey Johnson (Yara Shahidi) as she continues to grow up and mature at college.

The series also stars Trevor Jackson, Francia Raisa, Emily Arlook, Jordan Buhat, Chloe Bailey and Halle Bailey, Diggy Simmons, Luka Sabbat and Deon Cole.

12. The Boys (debuts July 26)

Amazon’s latest streaming show takes a mature look at the superhero genre by showcasing a group of vigilantes who are taking down the superheroes who misuse their powers.

Nathan Mitchell, Jessie T. Usher and Laz Alonso star along with Karl Urban, Chace Crawford, Jennifer Esposito, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jack Quaid, Elisabeth Shue and Antony Starr.

13. David Makes Man (debuts August 14)

From Tarell Alvin McCraney (Moonlight) and Michael B. Jordan, David Makes Man is a South Florida-set, coming-of-age drama. Phylicia Rashad leads the cast, which is toplined by relative newcomer Akili McDowell in the title role. Also cast are Nathaniel Logan McIntyre, Broadway actor Isaiah Johnson, Ade Chike Torbert, Jordan Bolger, Cayden K. Williams and Travis Coles. centers on David (McDowell), a 14-year-old prodigy from the projects who is haunted by the death of his closest friend and relied on by his hardworking mother to find a way out of poverty. He must choose between the streets that raised him or the higher education that may offer him a way out.
