The holidays season wouldn’t be complete without holidays specials!

The CW is ringing in its holiday season with the first of its hour-long, two-part specials coming up featuring The Black Pack. The first is The Black Pack: We Three Kings, which premiered recently.

The Black Pack: We Three Kings features Grammy-nominated singer and actor Eric Bellinger, actor Taye Diggs, and Grammy-winner and actor Ne-Yo. By the end, they will leave you singing along with your favorite Christmas tunes. The variety show takes a fresh twist on traditional holiday jingles, it has you smiling by the end of the show.

We spoke with Bellinger on his first-ever television role, how the Rat Pack inspires him musically and more.

Bellinger doesn’t plan on hopping off the acting train anytime soon, sharing that it is “a new hobby alert.’

“I’ve got some auditions that I’ve done before and since the show,” he told us. “After these specials, I believe I’ll be knee-deep”

The Black Pack, an honor to the late band, the Rat Pack— put on a show acknowledging the greats before them, such as Sammy Davis, Jr.

The singer reflected on how hard he worked during rehearsal and how his appreciation for the Rat Pack grew while studying them.

“Now, they [The Rat Pack] has inspired me musically. They are so different from my style of music and choice of melodies. I’m really a student. I studied them, I had them on repeat. I learned to love the spacing in between the words, the blank moments. In my next album, I’m definitely going to incorporate Rat Pack-isms,” said Bellinger.

The trio will return to The CW to host The Black Pack: Excellence, with a focus on celebrating Black Excellence, history, music. A Juneteenth special, it will feature a Juneteenth song.

When asked what song was his favorite to perform during the special, the artist shares, “It was the Juneteenth songs that were the most challenging and fun because there was a choreography aspect added.”

Both specials will feature musical guests, including Jordin Sparks, Tank and Sevyn Streeter.
