Lorraine Toussaint has joined AMC’s Into The Badlands as a series regular in its third season.

This comes as she wrapped up a role in the recently-canceled FOX show, Rosewood.

She will play Cressida, a self-styled Prophetess and mentor to Pilgrim. She is his spiritual guide, political counsel and chief military strategist.

According to Deadline, Toussaint had many offers in both TV and film after she finished Rosewood, ultimately going with the AMC series.

Into the Badlands features a story about a warrior and a young boy who journey through a dangerous feudal land together seeking enlightenment.
