Disney’s Onyx Collective has announced a premiere date for Hulu’s upcoming six-part limited docu-series The 1619 Project.

The limited series will premiere on January 26.

Created by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones and The New York Times Magazine, The 1619 Project will debut with the first two episodes streaming exclusively on Hulu, with two additional episodes released every Thursday.

Adapted from essays from Jones’ New York Times bestselling book The 1619 Project: A New Origin Story, the series reframe America’s history by placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of Black Americans at the center of the national narrative.

Hannah-Jones will host The 1619 Project, as well as executive produce alongside Oprah Winfrey, Academy Award-winning director Roger Ross Williams, The New York Times’ film and television editorial director Kathleen Lingo, and the project’s editor Caitlin Roper.
