Bleecker Street has dropped the first trailer for Mr. Malcolm's List.

The film stars Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù, Zawe Ashton and Freida Pinto. It is the feature directorial debut of Emma Holly Jones, adapted from the book of the same name by Suzanne Allain.

Here's the description:

When she fails to meet an item on his list of requirements for a bride, Julia Thistlewaite (Zawe Ashton) is jilted by London’s most eligible bachelor, Mr. Malcolm (Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù). Feeling humiliated and determined to exact revenge, she convinces her friend Selina Dalton (Freida Pinto) to play the role of his ideal match. Soon, Mr. Malcolm wonders whether he’s found the perfect woman…or the perfect hoax.

The cast is rounded out with Theo James as Captain Henry Ossory and Ashley Park as Gertie Covington.

Tamara-Lee Notcutt headed casting, Ray Ball did the production design and Pam Downe was costume designer. Laura Rister, Laura Lewis, Katie Holly and Jones produced the pic.

In the trailer, revenge is on the menu after the bachelor doesn’t select his bride. She has all the qualities except one and it’s enough for the bachelor to remove her from the list. Clearly puzzled and disappointed, the jilted potential bride takes matters into her own hands using a bit of creativity and wit to get even. Creating the prototype bride, she’ll trick her former groom-to-be into falling for a woman that does not exist.
