Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk and James Remar have been tapped to star in HBO Max’s upcoming prequel series to the It films.

The series, Welcome to Derry (working title), from filmmakers Andy and Barbara Muschietti is a prequel to Stephen King’s It. According to Deadline, the new show is “set in the world of King’s It universe and expands the vision established by Andy Muschietti.”

Although much isn’t known about the characters as of yet, those starring in the new series are no strangers to the acting industry.

Paige starred in the Oscar-winning film, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. She’s also a Spirit Award winner for Zola and will next appear in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley.

Adepo was Emmy-nominated for HBO’s Watchmen and recently starred in the Oscar-nominated film Babylon. He is set to appear in the upcoming Netflix series The Three-Body Problem.

Chalk’s current credits include HBO’s Perry Mason, the upcoming film All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt and the upcoming series FX’s Feud: Capote’s Women.

Welcome to Derry is produced by HBO Max and Warner Bros Television.  It Chapter Two co-producer Jason Fuchs and Brad Caleb Kane will serve as co-showrunners on the series. Fuchs and Kane along with The Muschiettis, Shelley Meals, Roy Lee and Dan Lin are executive producers.
