Tendo Nagenda has been promoted to executive vice president of production, at Disney Studios.

Nagenda, who has been with Disney since 2010, was previously promoted to senior vice president of production in 2014, shepherding many of the studio’s live-action projects from development through production and after.

Projects he oversaw include Disney’s live-action adaptation of “Cinderella,” which was a global hit for the studio. He also shepherded the live-action “Beauty and the Beast” last year, starring Emma Watson and set for release next year, and is spearheading Mira Nair’s “Queen of Katwe,” starring Lupita Nyong’o and David Oyelowo, which is set to open in September.

Among projects in development on his slate are Ava DuVernay’s adaptation of “A Wrinkle in Time,” as well as Tim Burton’s “Dumbo,” adaptation of Tom Barron’s “Young Merlin” series with writer Philippa Boyens and a live-action “Mulan,” to name a few.

Before joining Disney, Nagenda served as vice president of production at Good Universe, as well as worked at Brad Pitt‘s Plan B Entertainment and Warner Independent Pictures.
