Terrence Howard, Mike Epps and Paula Patton are all attached to star in the indie crime thriller titled “.38,” from director Michael Carney, who wrote the script with Tim Clemente and and Alexander Foard.

Produced by Armory Films and Foxtail Entertainment, the St. Louis-set film centers on a rookie cop during his first night on the job and a brutal killing that occurs. Themes that bind cops – both black and white – together, will be explored.

Howard will play a detective whose daughter goes missing during the night the story unfolds.

Epps is a veteran cop with a family connection to a neighborhood gang leader, and who doesn’t particularly care for the rookie cop.

And Patton will play Epps’ partner – a cop who is also tracking down the killer responsible for the brutal murder.

Filming is expected to begin in May.
