Teyana Taylor has been cast in BET cheerleading drama, Hit The Floor. As you may recall, the show is moving to BET from sister station VH1 for its fourth season.

While no huge details are available about her role right now, we’ve learned that she’s debuting with returning series regulars Kimberly Elise, Dean Cain, McKinley Freeman, Katherine Bailess, Jodi Lyn O’Keefe and Brent Antonello.

It is of note here that Logan Browning and Taylour Paige, who had led the show alongside Elise and Cain for three seasons are not listed as returning, at least not yet. It wouldn’t be surprising though for Browning, as she’s had a breakout year as Samantha White in the critically acclaimed Netflix series, Dear White People.

For Teyana Taylor, this is yet another project she adds to her list. She’s starring in the Netflix comedy film The After Party and will star in Honey 4 with Bryshere Y. Gray and Sierra McClain. This year, she also starred in the VH1 movie and following miniseries, The Breaks. It is unknown if this new casting will impact her role in The Breaks or if she will appear on both. The Breaks is also moving to BET from VH1 for its second season.

The season is set to premiere in 2018 with principal photography beginning next month.
