It was officially announced at Disney’s Investor Day that Teyonah Parris will be a part of the cast for Captain Marvel 2, directed by Nia DaCosta. She’ll join as Monica Rambeau, reprising her role that she will first debut in for Disney+’s Marvel series, WandaVision.
She joins Brie Larson and another new cast addition, Iman Vellani, who is the titular star from the upcoming Ms. Marvel series.

The ’90s-set first film followed the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.
The first film also starred Jude Law, Lashana Lynch, Ben Mendelsohn, Annette Bening and Gemma Chan.
