Tiffany Haddish will be back on the case as The Afterparty has been renewed for season 2, just as its finale airs on Friday.

Created and directed by Chris Miller, the series is a “genre-defying series centered on a murder mystery at a high school reunion. Each episode explores a different character’s account of the fateful evening in question, all through the lens of popular film genres and unique visuals to match the storyteller’s perspective.”

This season’s casts includes Haddish, Sam Richardson, Zoë Chao, Ben Schwartz, Ike Barinholtz, Ilana Glazer, Jamie Demetriou and Dave Franco. Right now, Haddish is the only one that is set to return for season 2, which makes sense given the fact next season will probably take on a new case that she’s investigating.

Miller is the showrunner and executive produces. Phil Lord is also an executive producer along with Tony and Anthony King. Aubrey Lee is a producer on the series as well.

In this week’s finale, “Maggie, an unexpected witness, will emerge to help Detective Danner piece together the true story behind Xavier’s demise.”
