Rachel Lindsay may have vowed to not renew her contractual duties for The Bachelor franchise but in the wake of Chris Harrison’s temporary exit, fans believe Lindsay will be a great host.

Lindsay’s decision comes after a controversial interview she did with Harrison regarding season 25  contestant Rachael Kirkconnell’s past racial actions resurfacing on social media. Kirkconnell apologized and says she understands the hurt the photos caused and that she’s since grown but not everyone is buying her apology.

Contestants from the current season penned an open letter denouncing Kirkconnell’s actions. During Lindsay and Harrison’s interview, Harrison asked whether or not Kirkconnell should be given “grace” as it occurred in the past.

Lindsay’s decision not to renew her contract comes amid conversations regarding the show’s lack of diversity in casting and those who work on the show behind the scenes. The idea that the Black leads always choose a suitor who is not of color has also been a major topic of discussion.

Lindsay says she’s tired of the way things are. “I’m f–king tired. I’m exhausted. I have truly had enough,” Lindsay said during a recent taping of the Higher Learning podcast with Van Lathan. “How much more do I want to be affiliated with this?… I said I was gonna leave if they didn’t have leads of color. Okay, they did that, and they made some other changes. They hired a diversity consultant. Who didn’t attend the class? Did Chris Harrison not sit through that?… I can’t take it anymore. I’m contractually bound in some ways. But when it’s up, I am too.”

But fans believe Lindsay is the perfect replacement for the gig. She already serves as a beloved television personality and correspondent on Extra. Obviously, her extensive history with the franchise will serve her well to do the job. Fans are making their voices heard on social media.
