Jeffrey Wright is in talks to join Matt Reeves’ The Batman as Commissioner Gordon. Jonah Hill has also been attached join the film, which will star Robert Pattison as the titular superhero.

In different iterations, Gordon is depicted as either the comissioner or detective at the Gotham City Police Department and an ally of Batman. Recently in film, the character has been portrayed by Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight trilogy) and J.K. Simmons (Justice League).

Reeves is the director and writer. The film is currently set for release on June 25, 2021.

Wright, who stars in HBO’s Westworld, has several films lined up, and can be currently seen in The Goldfinch.
