The Bible To Be Adapted Into 5-Part, 10-Hour TV Series Combining Live-Action & CGI

The trades are reporting that the History Channel has greenlit a 5-part, 10-hour docudrama series based on the bible, from Mark Burnett, the executive producer of Survivor.

Titled simply, The Bible, the series will focus on some of the most universally familiar tales from the bible; which ones? We don’t know yet; though I’m sure we can bet that the crucifixion of Jesus Christ will be at the top of that list.

The 10-hour project, which Burnett is said to have been working on for the last two years, will reportedly shoot on location, and will include a combo of live action and CGI (well, naturally).

This series will bring the historical stories of The Bible to life for a new generation,” said History Channel president Nancy Dubuc.

Worth noting… over the weekend, I read that Warner Bros was courting Darren Aronofsky to helm a big screen movie about Moses; then I heard that Aronofsky is reportedly, personally interested in making a film about Noah.

Since there apparently seems to be some renewed interest in biblical tales, what stories from the great book would you like to see included in Burnett’s 10-hour miniseries?
