Actor Lawrence Saint-Victor is best known for portraying attorney Carter Walton on the long-running CBS daytime soap opera The Bold and The Beautiful.

In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, the actor got candid on suggesting story ideas for his soap opera alter-ego, his mentorship with the show’s EP Bradley Bell and officially joining the writing staff on The Bold and The Beautiful.

Saint-Victor revealed his mentorship with the soap opera’s EP Bradley Bell began in his first interview for The Bold and The Beautiful.

The actor and the exec producer then started having conversations regarding the story development process, which eventually culminated in Bell asking Saint-Victor if he wanted to write a sample script. In the interview, the actor-turned-writer discussed what it’s like to be on The Bold and The Beautiful as both an actor and a member of the writing staff, noting that it informs his discussions with the show’s directors.

“It still keeps ticking up and it’s been amazing to be a part of this show in so many different ways of learning, because each department has their own point of view of the show,” Saint-Victor said to Soap Opera Digest.

“There’s the acting side and then, being with the writers, it makes my conversations with the directors a little different. There’s a difference in seeing the full scope of the show. It is such a privileged position to be in. I don’t fully understand all the components, but to get a chance to start to learn them has been a dream come true.”

Saint-Victor, who also portrayed Remy Bordeau on the soap opera 'Guiding Light,' also got candid on how he balances both acting and writing on 'The Bold and the Beautiful.'

“It’s kind of a head spin because it gets challenging when we’re shooting a lot of episodes while writing an episode, because what I’m writing and what we are shooting are spaced out in time,” he continued. “ As an actor, I have to remind myself, “Wait, Carter doesn’t know this yet.”

The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS.
