Shadow and Act can confirm that The CW has ordered three television pilots, Gotham Knights, Walker: Independence and The Winchesters. The network has also ordered six additional scripts for its Zorro television adaptation. The CW will determine what is next for the project at a later date.

Gotham Knights will start with tragedy–as most things in Gotham do. But this time, the tragedy revolves around Bruce Wayne’s murder. According to the logline:

In the wake of Bruce Wayne’s murder, his rebellious adopted son forges an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies when they are all framed for killing the Caped Crusader. And as the city’s most wanted criminals, this renegade band of misfits must fight to clear their names. But in a Gotham with no Dark Knight to protect it, the city descends into the most dangerous it’s ever been. However, hope comes from the most unexpected of places as this team of mismatched fugitives will become its next generation of saviors known as the GOTHAM KNIGHTS.

Berlanti Productions is behind the project in association with Warner Bros. Television. Danny Cannon will direct and executive produce the pilot. Other executive producers include Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, David Madden, Chad Fiveash and James Stoteraux.

Walker: Independence is an origin story for the ’90s hit television series Walker: Texas Ranger. In prequel series, Walker’s ancestor Abby Walker goes west for vengeance after a murder disrupts her family.

A WALKER origin story set in the late 1800s that follows Abby Walker, an affluent Bostonian whose husband is murdered before her eyes while on their journey out West. On her quest for revenge, Abby crosses paths with Hoyt Rawlins, a lovable rogue in search of purpose. Abby and Hoyt’s journey takes them to Independence, Texas, where they encounter diverse, eclectic residents running from their own troubled pasts and chasing their dreams. Our newfound family will struggle with the changing world around them, while becoming agents of change themselves in a town where nothing is what it seems.

Jared Padalecki, Dan Lin, Lindsey Liberatore and Laura Terry are executive producing. The series is written by Seamus Fahey with the story co-written by Fahey and Anna Fricke.

Another origin series, The Winchesters, recounts how Supernatural‘s brother team Sam and Dean Winchester came to be. The series follows their parents, John and Mary, and how their love involved the fate of the world.

Before Sam and Dean, there was John and Mary. Told from the perspective of narrator Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles), THE WINCHESTERS is the epic, untold love story of how John met Mary and how they put it all on the line to not only save their love, but the entire world. Prequel to the long-running hit series SUPERNATURAL.

Jensen Ackles and Danneel Ackles are executive producing via Chaos Machine and their overall deal with WBTV. Robbie Thompson is also executive producing with Chaos Machine Productions producing in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios.

Zorro‘s logline describes the show as a female-centric story: “A young Latinx woman seeking vengeance for her father’s murder joins a secret society and adopts the outlaw persona of Zorro.” Robert Rodriguez and Rebecca Rodriguez will executive produce with Rebecca directing. Other executive producers include Zorro Property, Inc.’s John Gertz, Ben Silverman, Rodney Ferrell, Howard T. Owens, Geoff Clark, Eric Bromberg, Sean Tretta and Jay Weisleder.
