After enthralling audiences with his performance in the period drama Sylvie’s Love, Nnamdi Asomugha is trading in his romance credentials for a film slated to be more tense and thrilling.

According to Deadline, Asomugha has joined the cast of the highly anticipated Netflix thriller The Good Nurse, which is set to be written by 1917 writer Krysty Wilson-Cairns and directed by Tobias Lindholm. He joins a cast that includes Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne.

Based on a true story, The Good Nurse will recount the hunt and capture of Charlie Cullen, a serial killer known as the “Angel Of Death” due to his profession as a nurse. Cullen confessed to murdering up to 40 patients over the course of his 16-year career as a nurse in New Jersey but is estimated to have murdered up to 400 patients.

Redmayne will portray Cullen, while Chastain will play a nurse who played a vital role in ending Cullen’s rampage. Asomugha will portray lead police detective Danny Baldwin.
