Written by Superstore executive producer Jackie Clarke, the show will focus on a single father (Thompson) who strives to be a super dad to his two adorable girls (Dani and Dannah Lockett), while balancing his job and a relationship with his father-in-law (Andy Garcia), who “helps” in the most inappropriate ways. Punam Patel also stars.

Lorne Michaels and Andrew Singer are executive producing through Michaels' production company, Broadway Video. Clarke will also executive produce.

It is expected that Thompson will, at least for now, shoot this series during the offseason of Saturday Night Live.
