'The Kitchen' Exclusive Clip: Mob Queen Tiffany Haddish Is Dissuaded From Killing More Folks By Melissa McCarthy

In a Shadow And Act exclusive clip from The Kitchen, mob conspirators Tiffany Haddish and Melissa McCarthy are making a game plan, and it involves Haddish being less trigger-happy when she has a disagreement.

The Kitchen is based on the DC Comics/Vertigo series by Ollie Masters and Ming Doyle and starring Haddish, McCarthy and Elisabeth Moss. Andrea Berloff is directing the film from her script adaptation, and the film marks her directorial debut.

Like the comic book, The Kitchen follows several mob wives who take over the family business after their husbands go to prison. This is Haddish’s second role that seems to expand her acting range; the first was her role in the political comedy The Oath.

James Badge Dale, Jeremy Bobb, Myk Watford, Domhnall Gleeson, Margo Martindale, Bill Camp and Brian d’Arcy Jame also star.

Watch the clip below:

The film is in theaters August 9.
