The #LawrenceHive, the fervent group of fans who rally around Insecure character Lawrence, is at it again! This time, the fight for Lawrence has gone to the streets.

Film critic and Twitter extraordinaire, Joi Childs (@jumpedforjoi) happened to be in New York City for a pop-up screening of the new season of Insecure and managed to capture this Lawrence Hive member protesting on behalf of his Best Buy fave.

Childs told us via that the protester came once people were waiting in line to enter the screening.

“When everyone’s irritation was high (folks were waiting on line for a while) his presence brought a moment of levity,” she wrote. “I have no clue whether this gentleman was joking or not, but the creator of the show, Issa Rae, has made it clear that Lawrence won’t be in Season 3. I’m respecting her creative choice and look forward to watching the season premiere when it airs this Sunday on HBO. I hope others do the same.”

This is the latest in Lawrence Hive shenanigans since Insecure creator Issa Rae revealed that she wouldn’t bring Lawrence back for the show’s third season. Since the news broke, the Lawrence Hive have been doing whatever they can to keep Lawrence around. Just a few weeks ago, a fervent member of the hive made a Care2 petition demanding (aka begging) Rae to put Lawrence back in as a season regular. The petition called Lawrence, played by Jay Ellis, a character that has realistically portrayed “difficult and rarely explored issues for men such as infidelity, male friendship, depression, and toxic masculinity.”

However, Rae is firm in her stance that Lawrence, Issa’s ex on the show, won’t be back.

“We want to stay as true to life as possible,” she said to Vibe. “They had a great conversation at the end of season two and it was just about like, hey, she’s moving on to Daniel, sometimes we have those conversations. You never see the exes again. And it’s ay! You gotta explore life without Lawrence.”

The third season of Insecure will premiere Aug. 12 at 10:32 p.m. ET on HBO.
