The Ms. Pat Show is coming back for a brand new season and the countdown is officially on!

The sitcom which received its first Emmy nomination for Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series, is a BET+ original multi-camera series that’s inspired by the real-life story of stand-up comedian Patricia “Ms. Pat” Williams.

The show follows a fictionalized version of a teen mom and former felon turned suburban Indiana mom. The series is executive produced by Brian Grazer, Lee Daniels and Jordan E. Cooper, alongside Williams. Cooper is the showrunner.

The Ms. Pat Show returns for a second season on August 11.

Here's an official description:

Season 2 of The Ms. Pat Show, which has already taken on profound topics including non-binary pronouns, school shootings, drug addiction, racism and child abuse, finds the Carson Family moving from a period of adjusting to a white suburban neighborhood, into a season of growth in these new surroundings. This modern, multi-generational African American family, navigating life’s twists and turns against the backdrop of current cultural chaos, explores self-love and past traumas. Most importantly, Pat confronts her own demons with plenty of laughs and even a few tears along the way, as only she can do.

The second season will have 10 episodes and returning cast members alongside Patricia “Ms. Pat” Williams are J. Bernard Calloway, Tami Roman, Theodore Barnes and Briyana Guadalupe.
