PREDATOR 2018
PREDATOR 2018

Director Shane Black shared the above photo on Twitter this morning with the caption: “Partial cast… beautiful human beings, good people. Also, killers. Cameras roll today. Follow me on Twitter for updates. Wish us luck.”

As previously reported, 20th Century Fox is rebooting the “Predator” franchise with “The Predator” which is due out in February 2018 featuring an all-new starring cast (the last “Predator” flick – released in 2010 under the title “Predators” – was a third installment of the original main franchise that started in 1987).

Based on the above official photo from the director of the reboot, we can now obviously confirm that Sterling K. Brown (who’s on a roll right now) is on board, along with “Moonlight” star Trevante Rhodes and Keegan-Michael Key, with Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, and Jacob Tremblay rounding out the cast – at least thus far; in his tweet, Shane Black did say this was a “partial cast” photo.

The plot for what ultimately counts as the fourth standalone film in the series (not counting two “Alien v. Predator” movies) is being kept underwraps, although director Black has said previously that it’s not a reboot, but an “inventive sequel” and will be set in the suburbs this time around. Industry media outlets are calling it a reboot of the franchise; the director is saying it’s something else. Whatever it is, let’s hope all the black people survive until the end of the movie!

By the way, Black also suggests that it will likely be rated R, tweeting: “And, just to be clear… PG-13 is for pussies. Spines bleed… a lot.” Did anyone expect anything else? All 3 films in the main franchise were rated R.
