'The Nigerian Filmmakers Guide to Success' Panel, London, Oct. 6

the release last month of Nadia Denton’s new book, "The Nigerian Filmmaker’s Guide

to Success," which is the follow-up to her previously successful "The Black British

Filmmaker’s Guide to Success," there is going a panel to discuss the Nigerian Film

Industry, its promise and its future, along with other key issues, with Ms. Denton.

The panel,

which will be moderated by Kunle Olulode of Voices4change England, will include, along

with Ms. Denton, Nigerian filmmaker, Adeyemi Michael, and will open with a

special screening of his short film "Sodiq."

As I said

about Ms. Denton new book back in August (HERE) its goal is to "chart

the emergence of a new wave of Nigerian audio-visual content – spanning indie

films, documentary, animation, experimental, music videos and diaspora films

and… (features) exclusive interviews with Nigerian filmmakers and industry

professionals, offering advice in the key areas of finance, development,

marketing, exhibition and distribution from a Nigerian cultural

perspective."

The panel

will take place in London on Monday Oct. 6 at The Kings Palace, located at 80

York Way, in the St Pancras Room, starting at 7PM.
