Issa Rae and Lakeith Stanfield have added a new film project to their busy to-do lists.
They will star in The Photograph, which will be directed by Stella Meghie and produced by Will Packer. It is set at Universal.
According to Variety, which broke the news about the film, it is described as a “romantic drama” that will center on “intertwining love stories in the past and present.” Meghie will also write and produce the film.
After co-starring in The Hate U Give, Rae has lined up multiple film projects. She has Little in theaters next month and just wrapped filming on The Lovebirds with Kumail Nanjiani. Meghie is also attached to direct her in the Paul Feig romantic comedy American Princess. On the TV side, outside of Insecure, Rae is set up for The Dolls limited series with Laura Dern.
Stanfield, who broke out on the big screen in Boots Riley’s indie Sorry to Bother You, can be next seen in Netflix’s Someone Great and has wrapped Rian Johnson’s Knives Out and A24’s Uncut Gems.
