Whoopi Goldberg is not too pleased with San Francisco’s Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone, who barred Nancy Pelosi from receiving communion, which is a religious practice. Goldberg spoke on the ordeal during a recent taping of The View.

The Archbishop did so in response to Pelosi’s stance on abortion rights in the wake of the potential threat of Roe vs. Wade being overturned. Goldberg finds the decision unethical. Pelosi is pro-choice.

The Archbishop responded in a seething letter to the Democrat

He wrote in part that Pelosi “should you not publicly repudiate your advocacy for abortion ‘rights’ or else refrain from referring to your Catholic faith in public and receiving Holy Communion, I would have no choice but to make a declaration, in keeping with canon 915, that you are not to be admitted to Holy Communion.”

“This is not your job, dude! You can’t — that is not up to you to make that decision,” Goldberg said in response.

She continued: “You know, what is the saying? It’s kind of amazing. But, you know, what is the point of communion, right? It’s for sinners. It’s for sinners. It’s the reward of saints, but the bread of sinners. How dare you?”
