Kyle Rittenhouse has his eyes set on Whoopi Goldberg and others for making such remarks before and after his trial related to him shooting at protestors at a Black Lives Matter protest.
His pending actions against Goldberg come amid her return to The View following a two week suspension.
The teenager wants to sue Whoopi Goldberg
Per Hollywood Life, Rittenhouse intends to sue the 66-year-old co-host of The View for her remarks on the daytime talk show after she called him a murder during a Dec. 2021 broadcast. The 18-year-old gained notoriety after he shot three protestors during June 2020 Black Lives Matter protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He was acquitted of all charges, citing self defense as his reason for his actions.
Rittenhouse shared his plans during Tucker Carlson‘s Fox News show on Monday, Feb 21.
“Right now we’re looking at quite a few politicians, celebrities, [and] athletes. Whoopi Goldberg’s on the list. She called me a murderer after I was acquitted by a jury of my peers. She went on to still say that,” he said, also announcing his foundation, The Media Accountability Project. . Rittenhouse also plans to sue The Young Turks creator and commentator Cenk Uygur, saying of Uygur, “He called me a murderer before verdict and continues to call me a murderer.”
“We’re going to hold everybody who lied about me accountable, such as everybody who’s lied, called me a white supremacist. They’re all going to be held accountable, and we’re going to handle them in a courtroom,” he continued, noting he’s suing for defamation.
Right now, Goldberg has not responded.
