The View panelist and esteemed lawyer Sunny Hostin has been very vocal and proud about her Catholic upbringing. In an Instagram post on Monday, Hostin shared photos from her 15-year-old daughter Paloma’s confirmation in Puerto Rico in celebration of Easter.

“Happy Easter. Such a special Holy Saturday with Paloma’s confirmation in Puerto Rico. He is Risen,” Hostin captioned the series of photos that depicts, her, Paloma and her husband Emmanuel Hostin, as well as photos of her family worshiping together during the service.

This isn’t the first time Hostin has been vocal about her views on life, religion and politics outside of The View.

The fan-favorite has been vocal about the pervasive racism that has shaped and defined America. Sadly, speaking about racism comes with its detractors, something that Hostin is no stranger to.

In an Instagram post last year, Hostin addressed racism, relaying her experience as an Afro-Latina woman.

"A Saturday lesson — We all want racism to be a past atrocity that is abolished in institutions, policies, systems and is replaced with equity and equality," she wrote. "FYI – people in my TL – it won't happen by pretending it doesn't exist. Also won't happen by not talking about it and not telling your kids about it and the history of this country, warts and all."

“Also, won’t happen by questioning my experience as a person of color and by denying that you have privilege. Also, yes I’m successful and that doesn’t mean that racism doesn’t exist and that I still experience it. It just means that my success makes me the exception and not the rule,” Hostin continued. “Oh yeah, and my pointing out racism, doesn’t make me a racist, a race hustler or a race baiter.”
