The View‘s Sunny Hostin has had it with the Republican Party.

During Thursday’s discussion on Wednesday’s shooting at a Tulsa, OK hospital that killed four people, Hostin laid into why she thinks the Republican Party should be disbanded. According to Decider, Hostin’s ire came after The View panel talked about House Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s statements. McConnell said that he believes the country’s mass shootings, including the recent shooting in Uvalde which took the lives of 19 children and two adults, is a result of mental health problems and a lack of school security.

"I don't think that Mitch McConnell is going to legislate for gun safety. You can't trust Mitch McConnell at his word, ever, 'cause he's a filthy liar and has been for quite some time," said Hostin. "Republicans are in lockstep against gun safety because all they care about is power."

“…All anyone’s talking about, even with red flag laws, is temporarily taking guns away. It’s a minor solution here, as Whoopi [Goldberg] has said all week, get the AR-15s off the planet, really, in my view,” she continued. “Just get rid of bump stocks, get rid of these weapons of war. And it’s not gonna happen with Republicans in power. So I am now with you, Joy,” she said to Joy Behar, who told the audience about not voting for Republicans in future elections.

Hostin expanded on that statement, saying she wants to get rid of Republicans altogether.

“Get rid of the party–the party as it stands now, because it’s the party of white supremacy, it’s the party of insurrectionists, it’s the party of massacres, at this point,” she said. “It’s the party that you just…can’t trust.” Hostin also said that voting for Democrats could “save our children.”

'The View' has talked about gun reform a lot in the past few days, along with everyone else who has been disturbed by the Uvalde massacre and gun violence as a whole. Save for some guest panelists, the core group of panelists have all agreed on the need for sensible gun reform.
