The Voice viewers are angry once again that the coaches didn’t turn around for another powerhouse singer.
Manasseh Samone came to The Voice blind auditions with her rendition of Lauren Daigle’s “Rescue.” While her performance was pitchy in places, it seemed like those issues were mainly nerves. Regardless, the coaches didn’t give her the benefit of the doubt, even though they heaped on the praise afterwards.
"I'm sorry you didn't get a turn. Some of the stuff that you were doing with your voice, I looked at Camila [Cabello] and I was like, 'How did she do that?' It's vocal acrobatics. It is really, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful," said Gwen Stefani.John Legend called her vibrato "interesting" and "wavy." But, he said, "sometimes when your vibrato's so big and spacious it sometimes kinda pulls you off the note that you're singing." He added that her learning how to polish her ability to use her vibrato was all she was missing from her performance. Cabello also said that Samone would do well to learn how to act out the emotions of the song more.

Fans of the show, however, were irate online, with one writing:
“I can’t believe you of all didn’t turn on Manasseh Samone like she out sang every one that’s been pick out the blind I don’t know what y’all on the season but I don’t like it I love the Voice but this is unacceptable[sic].”

"Manasseh Samone song 'Rescue' on The Voice and she was by far the best singer of the night," wrote another.
“But none of the coaches turned around for her. I am not a fan of the show but I decided to watch the show tonight. And I was shock that none of them turned around. Wow! What a mistake!”

Another commenter said Legend could have been the right coach for Samone."John Legend you could have been Manasseh Samone coach… All of y'all did her wrong." They also wrote how "disappointed" they were in Legend.

Samone joins the group of other contestants this season that have been denied a spot on a coach’s team despite their talent. But there have also been some contestants who were able to make the coaches turn around.
