Amazon's Prime Video has dropped the first trailer for season 2 of the YA survival series, The Wilds. The season will premiere on May 6 exclusively on Prime Video.
Here's the official description of Season 2: In Season Two, survival hangs in the balance for the group of teenage girls stranded on a deserted island, after the explosive discovery that what's happening to them is an elaborate social experiment. This season ups the drama and keeps you guessing, with the introduction of more test subjects—another island of teenage boys—who must also fight for survival under the watchful eye of the experiment’s puppet master.
'The Wilds' cast includes these returning stars:
Shannon Berry, Jenna Clause, Reign Edwards, Mia Healey, Helena Howard, Erana James and Sarah Pidgeon as the young women, with Rachel Griffiths, David Sullivan and Troy Winbush also starring.
Season 2 will introduce the new castaways: Alex Fitzalan as Seth Novak, Nicholas Coombe as Josh Herbert, Reed Shannon has Scotty Simms, Aidan Laprete as Henry Tanaka, Zack Calderon as Rafael Garrcia, Tanner Ray Rook as Bo Leonard, Miles Guiterrez-Riley as Ivan Taylor and Charles Alexander as Kirin O’Conner.
Stars Reign Edwards and Helena Howarrd spoke to S&A in 2020 about the series
“What really caught my attention about this project was the story of sisterhood,” she said at the time. “And the dynamic that you don’t really see often as like fraternal twins period, but also just twins, not getting along. It’s usually like, ‘Oh, we’re always in sync.’ And I love that story. You see this journey of individuality. And they’re trying to find that even though they are in sync, [but this] actually causes them to butt heads at times. So I think that it’s great. And then also, I was just really excited to see these two Black girls and that are twins…but they’re so different. And I think between me and Helena, we show like a whole spectrum of Black women and we don’t all look one way [and] we don’t all act one way. I think it’s really, really beautiful to see these two twins who are literally from the same household that are completely different and who they are as a person.”
The Wilds is co-produced by Amazon Studios and ABC Signature, a part of Disney Television Studios.
