The 70th Primetime Emmy Awards telecast debuted on Monday, September 17 — moving from its usual Sunday telecast due to the Sunday Night Football conflict — and the nominations list was full of color! This year’s nominee list was the most diverse group in the award ceremony’s history.

The telecast was a full NBC affair as the show’s hosts were Saturday Night Live “Weekend Update” co-anchors, Michael Che and Colin Jost.

As for black talent, Regina King and Thandie Newton both scored acting wins and RuPaul Charles won for RuPaul’s Drag Race.
