Freeform’s grown-ish gets all the comparisons to A Different World, but has anyone compared Dear White People to that seminal classic yet? Enter Shadow And Act’s latest mashup, “A Different Dear White People.”

Yes, the shows are the same because they are both set in college, but there are all sorts of other subtle similarities, such as a character hosting a radical college radio show (kind of like Freddie’s radio show, where we get the beginnings of her and Ron’s relationship). There are also various facets of Black young adulthood, from the preps to the activists to those who just want to fit in.

Check out our mashup and tell us what you think!
