Tia Mowry is opening up about whether or not she’d return to the second revival series of The Game, as well as the final season of Netflix’s Family Reunion.

The veteran actress talked about the series in an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the 2021 EBONY Power 100 ceremony. She said the announcement of Family Reunion‘s ending was“bittersweet”

“You know, our pickup was very bittersweet because I mean, I’m very grateful to be picked up,” she said. “To be able to last 3 seasons on any network is a huge accomplishment, especially Netflix, because the shows usually don’t go past 3 or 4 years, my type of show, comedy with kids, so I’m very, very grateful that we are able to continue to tell our story. My character, Coco, she’s pregnant on the show, so it’s going to be nice to kind of go through that journey, but then it’s a little bitter because it’s our last season.”

The actress and former child star also heaped praise on the child actors of the show.

“The kids are so phenomenal, and we will definitely stay in touch,” she continued. “I feel like yes, I am their TV mom, but working with children is always so rewarding to me because they remind me of me when I was a child actor,” she continued. “So, I’m very protective over them, and very nurturing, so we’re really gonna make this season the best season.”

With the cancellation of Family Reunion, many fans of Mowry are left wondering if this means she will reprise her role as Melanie on the return of The Game, which is slated to premiere on Paramount+ on Nov 11.

"You know what's so funny? Never say never," she said.

“I mean, as it stands for right now, we aren’t in any talks or communication about me coming back to the show,” she explained. “I know it seems kind of weird, because I’m like, the only one, but you know, Melanie, I loved playing that character, and if everything works out, and if everything works out the way that it should, then who knows, I might be on the show. And I will say this, if you guys want me on the show, continue to press, press, press the network and we’ll see”

In an interview with Atlanta Black Star, Mowry’s on-screen romantic interest Pooch Hall, who is already set to return, opened up about returning without Mowry (at least for now).

“First and foremost, I want to shout Tia as being one of the hardest-working women in show business,” he said. “It’s too bad that we can’t continue where we left off. We were compared to so many different couples like Joanie and Chachi, Martin and Gina, and Rachel and Ross. We are in those conversations.” He said. “The fact that she’s not there does stink, but she has not stopped working since leaving The Game. I know the fans were looking forward to having her and I back together. But…the show must go on.”
