Tiffany Haddish’s star has seen a meteoric rise this year, and it isn’t dimming anytime soon.

She has been tapped to star with Kevin Hart in Night School. Universal Pictures has set Malcolm D. Lee to direct Kevin Hart in the action-comedy, which Will Packer will produce. Tim Story was previously attached to direct the movie which is set for a Friday, September 28, 2018 release.

Hart, who came up with the original story, and co-wrote the script with Harry Ratchford, Joey Wells and Matt Kellard – with additional script work by Nick Stoller – will also produce the film, which follows a group of misfits who are forced to attend adult classes in preparation to take the GED exam.

Will Packer will produce for his Will Packer Productions alongside Hart, who will produce via his Hartbeat Productions banner. It’s a reteaming of Packer and Lee who also assumed the same roles for the blockbuster hit, Girls Trip, which just crossed the $100M mark at the domestic box office.

Haddish is also starring in the upcoming TBS comedy, The Last O.G., with Tracey Morgan.

The Hollywood Reporter first broke the news of Haddish’s casting.
