Tiffany Haddish has just signed on to star in an upcoming Tyler Perry film, The List, alongside Tika Sumpter and Omari Hardwick.

It is Perry’s first film under his new deal at Paramount, under the Paramount Players banner. He is writing, directing and producing.

Perry came to Paramount after many years at Lionsgate, the home of all of his films prior to this.

The film already has a fast release date, set for November 2, 2018.

The logline: When her wild sister (Haddish) gets released from prison and re-enters her life, Danica (Sumpter) is forced to accept that she may be getting “catfished” by an online boyfriend whom she has never met in person.

This is just one of many, many projects Haddish has lined up. Her more immediate ones include the TBS comedy The Last O.G., premiering next month and the Kevin Hart film, Night School, which is out in September.

Of the many things she has in development, one of the most buzzed about is The Kitchen, a mob drama basic on the DC/Vertigo comic of the same name, in which she will star in with Melissa McCarthy.

It’s safe to say that since her breakout role in Girls Trip, Haddish’s star has had the quickest ascent to the stop that we’ve seen in recent memory.

Power star Hardwick just appeared in the films A Boy. A Girl. A Dream. and Sorry To Bother You, which both bowed at Sundance. Sumpter, who stars in Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots, has two upcoming films, the political thriller The Pages and Old Man and the Gun.

Deadline first reported the news.
