On the latest episode of Shadow And Act’s Facebook Live Q&A series, Locked Down With ____, Tina Lifford, author of The Little Book of Big Lies and star of Queen Sugarrevealed that the OWN show set the tone for other television sets when it came to taking the coronavirus seriously.

We got one full episode in the can and maybe two or three days into [filming] the second episode, Ava DuVernay, our executive director and creator of Queen Sugar, actually called in and informed us that she was going to be putting the health and the safety of all of us first,” said Lifford.

In doing that, she was one of the first shows to proactively shut down, send people home and prepare [for quarantine],” she continued. “So, that’s what we did. That was maybe four Fridays ago now.

Lifford said the cast and crew expect to be back on set when the quarantine is over.” But, she said, those of us at Queen Sugar following the lead of our leadership, we’re taking this whole thing seriously.”
