First, watch a preview of the documentary below, and read about it underneath:

BET Networks presents “Charged: The DA vs. Black America,” described as an alarming whistleblowing revelation regarding the absolute power of the district attorney offices around the country. Promising an in-depth look into the criminal justice system through cases and families in New Orleans, LA, Milwaukee, WI, and Baltimore, MD, the documentary exposes how prosecutors operate in an unchecked system as they decide the fates of a disproportionate number of African American men, many of whom are non-violent defenders receiving harsh maximum sentencing.

Produced by “NBC News” Senior Producer and Emmy nominated Shoshana Guy, #Charged is narrated by Black Thought of the legendary hip hop band The Roots, and features Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby, the only Black female district attorney in the entire country who garnered fame for charging six white police officers for the murder of 25-year-old Freddie Gray. It also includes Rashad Robinson, executive director of Color of Change, the largest online, non-profit racial justice organization, as well as Black men and their families affected by the failing system. The event will be live at BET.com and BET Facebook Live, premiering on November 7, 2016 at 9pm EST.
