Girlfriends' Tracee Ellis Ross is slated to star in the new NBC drama pilot titled Bad Girls, adapted from the UK ITV series by the same name which ran from 1999 until 2006. The John Wells Prods and WBTV project centers on a group of unlikely women in a federal prison, Deadline reports.

Ross will play a powerful business woman, who puts off having children to tend to her career; she is now desperate to get pregnant, but becomes incarcerated for selling dummy mortgages.

Ross can be seen in the BET comedy series Reed Between the Lines, which she also produced.
