nullCheck out this trailer for an upcoming feature documentary from co-directors Jessie Chisi and Salla Sorri, funded by the Finnish Film Foundation.

The film, which is set to screen at the Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival, tells the intriguing story of Esther Phiri, a retired and undefeated boxing champion from Lusaka (Zambia), who holds numerous international boxing records/titles – impressive for someone who grew up in poverty, and with few prospects, in Lusaka, who gave birth to a daughter at just 15 years old, and who credits Laila Ali as an inspiration.

She eventually would become a household name herself, thanks to an illustrious boxing career, and would influence and inspire other young women around the world in her travels.

It was previously titled "Woman On Hold," and is now called "Between Rings." It is produced by Tahir Aliyev, Aino HalonEn, Victoria Thomas and the directors.

The Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival folks have this to say about the film: "In the wrong hands, this film could have been a predictable and sentimental story, but the Finnish/Zambian directors Salla Sorri & Jessie Chisi have created an exceptionally realistic film, which avoids politically correct clichés in favour of a portrait that makes space for the contrasts, conflicts and inner tensions that are also a part of Esther Phiri’s story. And finally, you can only have the greatest respect for her tenacity and courage – and for how infinitely much she had to fight for."
