The first trailer for Marvel’s The Defenders was released as the first episode of the show was screened at San Diego Comic-Con.

Executive produced by Douglas Petrie, Marco Ramirez, Drew Goddard and Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s The Defenders arrives in August and unites Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, Mike Colter’s Luke Cage and Finn Jones’ Iron Fist. Élodie Yung reprises her role as Elektra from Daredevil, trained by Sigourney Weaver’s Alexandra, an adversary to The Defenders.

Other characters who star in connected series across the MCU will also appear, including Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, Eka Darville as Malcolm Ducasse, and many more.

Netflix has said that it plans to release a new Marvel superhero series about every six months (in addition to the dozen or so Marvel movies that are scheduled to be released over the next 5 years. The Defenders is the fifth Marvel/MCU Netflix series (The four main characters of The Defenders; The Punisher will make the sixth series).

Marvel’s The Defenders will be on Netflix, August 18.
