“Get ready world, here comes Trinidad and Tobago genre cinema!!!”

I still remember the above boast on the Facebook page for Nicholas Attin’s feature film debut – a film we highlighted over last summer – Little Boy Blue, a psychological thriller, he made with a $1,000 budget, and a 2-man crew, shot on location in Trinidad and Tobago, with an entirely Trinbagonian cast.

The film traveled the international film festival circuit all last year, with sales and distribution handled by CaribbeanTales Worldwide Distribution.

For his second feature, Attin continues his journey down the genre cinema path he started on, with the action/thriller titled Escape From Babylon.

Here’s how Attin describes the film:

RANDOLPH BRIGGS is an ex-cop living in Port of Spain, Trinidad. After being drummed out of the force for unjust reasons he now works as a taxi driver on the grave yard shift. He’s a loner who cruises the streets at night in a city plagued with crime and violence. A serial killer posing as a taxi driver also prowls the city at night stalking young female victims. Stripped of his official authority but burdened with a need to protect the innocent, Randolph Briggs eventually makes the ultimate decision to follow his instincts and Escape From Babylon.

The film stars Kearn Samuel as our hero, along with Conrad Parris, Samara Lallo, Kerri Tucker, and others.
