“One & Done,” the Showtime sports documentary chronicling the sprawling journey of 2016 NBA No. 1 draft pick Ben Simmons, will premiere Friday, November 4 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime. The project is described as an intimate portrait that examines the coming-of-age of a basketball prodigy.

The production, led by executive producers Maura Mandt, Dave Chamberlin and Josh Swade, has been underway for two years with exclusive access to the highly touted, 20-year-old forward from Melbourne. The film will take viewers from Simmons’ Australian upbringing, to high school and college in America, to the top of the rookie class in the world’s foremost basketball league. It captures Simmons and his inner circle in realizing a lifelong family dream as he is selected No. 1 and prepares to embark on the next chapter of his journey.

“One & Done” continues the proliferation of timely and compelling sports documentaries on Showtime. It is part of an expansive lineup of films from Showtime Sports that includes “The Drew” (on Baron Davis), “Iverson,” “Kobe Bryant’s Muse,” “Play It Forward” (Tony Gonzalez), and “Dean Smith.”
