“The Recall”

A film we introduced you to last fall when it was being shopped to international buyers at the American Film Market (AFM), now has North American distribution, as well as a release date and a first trailer.

VMI Worldwide’s sci-fi thriller titled “The Recall,” stars Wesley Snipes and follows five friends on vacation at a remote lake house, unaware that planet Earth is under an alien invasion and mass-abduction. Snipes stars as a mysterious hunter with special knowledge of the attack.

The film is directed by Mauro Borrelli, primarily an art director/illustrator who’s worked on high-profile films like “The Hateful Eight,” “Captain America: The First Avenger,” and 2 of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies.

Filmed specifically to be released in Barco-equipped theatres (Barco is a multi screen format similar to Cinerama, which features multi-projection in order to create a panoramic experience, expected to compete with IMAX and Dolby Cinema), Bridgegate Pictures, in association with Minds Eye Entertainment, have announced the limited theatrical release for “The Recall” on June 2nd, 2017.

Following the limited June 2nd release, the film also has the potential to follow with a wider release in many more theaters, depending on how well it performs initiually. Portions of the film were also shot for Virtual Reality.

With the announcement of an official release, a first trailer for “The Recall” has premiered and is embedded below, followed by the film’s poster:
