The documentary contains stories, as well as and opinions of women in hip hop, as well as fans, in the UK, and covers several related matters.

Presented in insightful personal narratives/reflections through interviews of an intergenerational nature, bringing from margin to centre, the much obscured, but very present hip-hop feminist sensibility here in the UK… You will see the UK female Hip-hop community speak on issues of feminism, identity, race, hip-hop education, women in the music industry and more.
“Through The Lens of Hip Hop: UK Women” documentary will premiere at SOAS, University of London, Khalili Lecture Theatre (KLT), Lower Ground Floor, Thornhaugh Street, Russell Square, London, WC1H 0XG on 11 July 2014, starting at 7pm! The team behind the film will be present for a discussion to follow the screening, followed by a raffle.
