Some casting announcements made in the last week that we missed…

— Kelly Jenrette has been cast opposite Jalen Rose in ABC’s comedy pilot “Jalen vs. Everybody,” from Nahnatchka Khan, creator/executive producer of ABC’s family comedy “Fresh Off the Boat,” and the series’ executive producer Jake Kasdan. Former NBA player Jalen Rose is going to take a shot at acting, starring in his very own TV series for ABC – assuming it gets picked up. Jenrette joins the previously cast Anna Maria Horsford and Marla Gibbs who will play Rose’s mother and grandmother, respectively. Jenrette will play Denise, Jalen’s ex, and the mother of their two girls, Samantha and Natalie, who live with her mostly, though they visit their dad regularly. Denise has her own jewelry business and is also starting to date again.

— Tamara Taylor has booked a recurring role opposite James Purefoy on Netflix’s “Altered Carbon,” futuristic drama series from Laeta Kalogridis, which is based on Richard Morgan’s award-winning 2002 cyberpunk sci-fi novel of the same name. Set in the 25th century when the human mind has been digitized and the soul is transferable from one body to the next, and a United Nations Protectorate oversees a number of extrasolar planets settled by human beings, Taylor has signed up to play Oumou Prescott, a very powerful, whip-smart lawyer who represents Laurens Bancroft (Purefoy).

— Brittany S. Hall is set for a recurring role on the third season of HBO’s dramedy series “Ballers,” playing Amber, a woman from Ricky’s (John David Washington) past. “Ballers,” set in Miami FL, stars Dwayne Johnson as ex-NFL superstar Spencer Strasmore, who has reinvented himself as a financial manager for today’s players.

— Amaury Nolasco and Lenora Crichlow have booked series regulars opposite Jack Cutmore-Scott in ABC’s pilot “Deception,” an FBI crime drama procedural which follows superstar magician Cameron Black (Cutmore-Scott), his career is ruined by scandal, who has only one place to turn to practice his art of deception, illusion, and influence — the FBI. He’ll become the world’s first consulting illusionist, helping the government solve crimes that defy explanation, and trap criminals and spies by using deception. Nolasco will play FBI agent Mike Alvarez, and Crichlow is Dina Clark, Cameron Black’s producer/makeup genius. “Deception” hails is from Greg Berlanti Productions and Quinn’s House in association with Warner Bros. Television, for ABC.

— B.J. Britt has landed a lead role in Fox’s TV series adaptation of the 2001 action-war drama “Behind Enemy Lines,” written by Nikki Toscano and directed by McG. The TV project will follow a group of U.S. soldiers who find themselves trapped behind enemy lines, and the officers and service men and women on a nearby aircraft carrier, along with intelligence officers in D.C. as they attempt to bring our heroes home safely. Britt will play Reggie Mitchella, a jaded former Marine and the weapons systems officer.

That’s all for now!
